We makefun stuff.

A Kolkata studio of three founders and some friends — building websites, apps, electronics, photos, videos, and the side projects that keep us up at night. We take craft seriously, and fun even more seriously.

We make fun stuff — and we mean it literally. The work that ships is the work we're excited about. No boring client meetings. No "we should do a content calendar." Just the stuff that makes us want to show up tomorrow.

NwRade is a small studio that grew out of one stubborn belief: the best work happens when you're actually having fun. We tinker because we can't help it — soldering irons at midnight, dragging pixels around at 2am, building side projects nobody asked for.

Today we make that obsession useful. We build websites and apps for people who care about craft, wire up electronics for makers and small businesses, shoot photos and video for brands with taste, and run small experiments just to see what happens.

We're not trying to be a giant agency. We're three founders and some friends running a small studio out of Kolkata, taking on a handful of projects at a time and giving them the attention they actually deserve.

You bring the idea. We'll make it fun.

Six things we love building.

From the first wireframe to the final solder joint, here's everything we can take off your plate. Pick one, or stack a few — we work the same way on all of them.

03 / ELECTRONICS

  • Interactive installations
  • Small-batch manufacturing
Starting from$6K
04 / PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography

06 / PROJECTS

Projects

Art · Experiments · Wild ideas

Anything fun and interesting — art installations, weird hardware builds, experimental tools, indie games, custom synths, generative art, pixel art zines. Some we sell, some we just make for the love of it.

Recent work.

A small selection of stuff we've built, shot, and shipped lately. Some for clients, some for ourselves, all actually fun.

Polaroid Diary

A year-long project: one Polaroid a day, every day, no editing. 365 frames, exhibited at a small Brooklyn gallery last December.

How we work.

No mystery, no fluff. Here's exactly what happens after you say "hey, let's build something."

STEP / 01

Discover

We listen. Brief, audience, constraints, the dream version. We ask the annoying questions early so we don't build the wrong thing fast.

STEP / 02

Design

Wireframes, moodboards, pixel-perfect mocks. We sketch fast, get your sign-off, lock the look before a line of code is written.

STEP / 03

Build

Weekly slices, short Looms, a shared staging link. You see the thing growing. We fix the small stuff while the big stuff is fresh.

STEP / 04

Ship

Launch day polish, monitoring, the boring post-launch fixes. We stick around for the 1% that makes the difference between shipped and beloved.

The founders // in the wildShot on a fisheye, lightly cursed.

Three founders, some friends, one Kolkata studio.

We're Adwait, Avilash & Rudrava — designers, engineers, photographers, hardware tinkerers, the whole thing. The idea of NwRade started in college, around 2019–2020, in the cracks between deadlines and dorm-room side projects. We'd build random things, take photos for fun, solder weird circuits at 2am, and call it Tuesday.

After we finished college, life did what life does — jobs, cities, deadlines, the usual crutches. But the side projects never really stopped. Somewhere along the way it became clear that the fun we were already having could be useful to other people too. So we finally pulled the trigger, joined hands with a few good friends, and turned NwRade into a real studio.

Today there's the three of us at the core, three regular collaborators on the bench (an extra hand for code, video, and hardware when projects need it), and around 7–8 years of combined experience across web, mobile, electronics, photo, and video — and we're still very much growing. Operating out of Kolkata, India, working remote-first with clients worldwide.

We take on 4–6 projects a year so each one gets the attention it actually deserves. We say no to most things. We say yes to most weird things.

Questions we get a lot.

If yours isn't here, just ask — we read every message and reply to most.

Q.01How much does a project cost?

Depends on scope, but we always share a range upfront — no "request a quote" black box. Landing pages typically land $8K–$15K. Full websites $20K–$50K. Apps, hardware, and brand systems range wider. We work on a 50/50 split, with the rest tied to milestones, not hours.

Q.02How long does it take?

Landing page: 2–3 weeks. Full website: 6–10 weeks. App or hardware project: 3–6 months. Brand system: 4–8 weeks. We share a week-by-week plan at kickoff and update it as we go.

Q.03Do you take small or weird projects?

Yes — especially weird. If it's small but interesting (a synth, a zine, a one-page portfolio for a friend), send us a Loom and we'll probably say yes. We keep one slot open every quarter for the things that don't quite fit a brief.

Q.04Where are you based? Do you travel?

Kolkata, India — but we work remote-first and ship worldwide. We travel for shoots, installs, and the occasional client visit. Our default is async (Looms, Notion, Linear) with one real call a week, scheduled around your timezone.

Q.05Do you do retainers? What if we just need a few days a month?

Yes. We keep two retainer slots open at $6K/mo for ongoing work — design, dev, content, the lot. Smaller recurring needs are fine too; we bill by the day at $1.4K with no minimum commitment.

Q.06What are you not great at?

Honest answer: enterprise sales decks, "we just need someone to run our socials" retainers, and projects where the brief is "make it pop" with no real strategy underneath. We'll tell you upfront if we're not the right fit, and usually point you to someone who is.

Let's make something fun.

Got a brief, a sketch, a question, or just want to nerd out about hardware for an hour? We read every message. We reply to most of them within a working day.
